Don’t Blame Rich Hill or Dave Roberts for losing the no-hitter

The Dodgers lost to the Pirates 1-0 when Rich Hill gave up the Pirates’ only hit. It just happened to be a Josh Harrison home run. I am sure there are going to be some who say that this loss falls on Dave Roberts for sending Rich Hill out in the tenth inning. The blame lies squarely with the Dodgers hitters who went 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.

This game should have never gone ten innings. In total, the Dodgers left 25 men on base compared to the one man who got on base for the Pirates. Chase Utley left 5 men on base. Logan Forsythe and Curtis Granderson left 4 men on base. Cory Seager left 3 men on base.

The defense kept things together with some great players by Adrian Gonzalez and Utley. However they could not overcome the lack of hitting.
